THE GARDENS AND parks of our part of the world are starting to burst into life after a milder-than-usual winter. We’ve already spotted Silvereyes (Zosterops lateralis) nesting in our garden, darting through the branches with their bright flashes of eyeliner. Time to plan your migratory trip to Deepwater and the greater New England region, and we have something very special to draw your eye.

Silver Spring

Singer-songwriter Stevie Nicks put such sights and the feelings they inspire so beautifully in her 1977 song ‘Silver Spring’:

“You could be my silver spring
Blue green colours flashin’
I would be your only dream
Your shining autumn, ocean crashing…”

After teaching silver jewellery workshops for the past decade, this season Richard Moon is hosting a series of sessions designed for those who want to get serious about learning the art of working with silver. Silver Spring runs from September to December, with discounts for the more sessions you book.
